The Green Mountains of Vermont make the state's center region an exciting place to visit year-round, with hiking, biking, fishing, and both downhill and cross-country skiing available. Dozens of ski resorts like Killington, Stowe, Sugarbush, and Stratton have made Vermont popular as a winter vacation destination. The historic country inns here and throughout the state allow travelers to truly relax and enjoy the changing seasons, which are quite amazing to see here: the brightly colored maple leaves, the powdery snow, the vibrant green grass in the summer. The western part of the state, which borders Lake Champlain, is just as beautiful but more cosmopolitan. Among other sights, this region is home to the headquarters of Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream, the Discover Jazz Festival, the Vermont Teddy Bear Factory, and the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum.
