One may think that, due to their size, the Channel Islands do not have much to offer a vacationer. But the real appeal of these islands is their isolation from the commotion of the rest of the UK and the European mainland. On the largest island, Jersey, there is the Gerrald Durrell conservation zoo, one of the first and most important zoos in the world. Not too far away you can find the famous German Underground Hospital, and at the capital of St. Hellier there is the Jersey Museum. Guernsey is the second largest Channel Island and, along with the historical Norman Castle Cornet, the island has 27 beaches you can relax on. And if you want peace and quiet the smaller and tranquil islands of Alderney and Sark are perfect for bicycle rides and spectacular shoreline walks.
