South Dakota's dramatic landscape and Old West atmosphere make it one of the most interesting places to visit. The Black Hills region, still populated by the Sioux tribes, is also the site of the annual Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, as well as the world-famous Mount Rushmore National Memorial. Not too far away is Badlands National Park, full of amazing rock formations and wildlife like coyote, prairie dogs, antelope, and bison. The famous Old West mining town of Deadwood was host to such legends as Wyatt Earp, Doc Holiday, Wild Bill Hickock, and Calamity Jane, and many of their old haunts have been restored for visitors to see.
