'AMANI HOUSE' - a Coastal retreat

The house is situated on a 5 acre plot at Mwapa Creek, 25 km north of Mombasa, 5km off road in a serene rural setting. It comprises of an open plan sitting, dining and kitchen with a lot of outside space. The two guest rooms (one with two single beds, one with a double bed) are self contained with shower and toilet. The house is run with solar and wind power and has its own water supply consisting of a well and rainwater collection tank.

We offer accommodation on half board basis (breakfast, dinner), and you are welcome to use the kitchen and serve yourself with snacks and drinks during the day. The provision of bed sheets and towels as well as laundry is included in our service.

The area offers endless opportunities for walks, cycling, exploring the mangroves by hired boats or canoes, or the use of facilities in the vicinity for deep sea fishing, diving and waterskiing.
Or may be you just want to spoil yourself by relaxing, reflecting, meditating, and getting a massage?

You want to get involved in sustainable development ? Amani House is situated next to KWETU - a centre training the rural youth in the sustainable management of the natural resources. Courses are offered in organic farming, food processing e.g solar drying on fruits, beekeeping, making of candles and soaps, crab rearing, as well as training in business and life skills. KWETU has an outreach into many coastal villages and you are welcome to join the extension workers on some of their visits.
