We have just returned from a week at this villa. we found when we arrived that the villa was not as fresh and clean as it looked in the photos. It was quite musty, smelly and the bedding was very old and uncomfortable. the kitchen was very dirty and extremely basic. the microwave - be ware! every time we touched it after using it we got a very severe electric shock!!! there were ants everywhere, even in the bedrooms. the first day we went down to take a swim in the pool we found a dead rat in it! But, apart from all of these thing which we could have put up with, on our last day the cleaning lady arrived and said that she was there to clean because we should have been out that day where in fact we had booked and already paid for that night and were due to leave the following morning! we assumed it was a mistake on her part, but then the owner rang us and actually shouted and roared at us on the phone, then put her husband on who also was extremely rude and bullied me, shouted at me and they both threatened to call the police to get us out!!! it turned out that they had made a mistake in their bookings and had booked for another family to arrive a day too early! but instead of apologising to us and take responsibility they actually tried to blame us and even said that if they had made a mistake that 'we' should have told them sooner!!!! we had two new born babies with us and two older children. everyone was very upset, traumatised even, and the older children cried and were shaking after the whole ordeal! it was horrible and totally spoiled our holiday! in the end they admitted that they had no cleaning lady available for the day we were to leave and so we were asked to please clean the house before we left! which i did as i would have anyway but should not have had to! anyway, i could go on and give all the details but i am still so upset about it all and shocked at the treament we received. JUST BE WARE! IF YOU DO DECIDE TO BOOK THIS VILLA MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE BLACK & WHITE PRINT ON YOUR CONTRACT. do not assume anything and most certainly do not be fooled by how they come across as being very nice and friendly on their emails!! I have never ever experienced anything like this and i have travelled all over the world and booked villas and houses. So if you really want to suffer a disastrou holiday...try this villa! I am amazed that anyone could actually get away with being so nasty and try to make us believe that we were the ones who made the mistake! even though (luckily) i had printed off all the coorespondance and brought it with me. the woman even threatened that my husband would end up spending the night in jail!
NOT MY IDEA OF A HOLIDAY! who regulates these rentals?
