Escape the heat in the summer, or enjoy the snow and winter sports. Travel to nearby Yosemite, Lake Tahoe, or the Eastern Sierra. Hike many miles of scenic trails; go on nature walks with a trained naturalist from the Summit ranger station; take advantage of excellent stream and lake fishing; rent a canoe, paddle-boat, rowboat or small outboard at the Pinecrest marina; or watch movies in the evening at the outdoor amphitheater.
