Oregon, in the Pacific Northwest of the country, is home to a wide variety of terrain. From rocky shores on the coast to plains regions to deep forests to the Cascades Mountains, the whole state is also covered with hundreds of flowing rivers and streams that allow for outdoor recreation. The 1,932 feet deep Crater Lake is one of the most interesting of the state's bodies of water. The Oregon Trail ends here, and visitors to Oregon can still see the remnants of this part of our nation's history along the trail itself and in several museums. And of course Portland is one of the most cultural parts of the state, with the symphony, opera, museums, shopping, and cultural diversity readily available to both visitors and residents.
