Local attractions include Iao Valley State Park, approximately 19 miles away, and Kihei Town, located four miles from the resort.
Makena Beach is steps from the property, and offers a quarter-mile of white sand and lounge chairs. The beach activity desk can arrange numerous water excursions. The hotel's central feature is an Asian meditation garden and open-air atrium, featuring waterfalls, streams, carp, and stone pathways.
