Halfway between Hawaii and Australia lies the Republic of the Marshall Islands, a group of 34 small islands and coral atolls. The abundance of marine life—including turtles, rays, sharks, giants clams, and tons of fish—and World War II wrecks in the coral reefs make it a prime dive destination. Fishing is also a popular activity on the Marshall Islands, with marlin, wahoo, mahi mahi, tuna, barracuda, sailfish, and reef fish being the native species. Of course, there are also plenty of beach locations where you can swim or just enjoy the beautiful surf and sand.
