Fort Myers Beach is just within a few hours drive of Florida's multitude of attractions. To name just a few, there is Disney World, Sea World, Cape Canaveral, Miami with South Beach, The Everglades, Sanibel Island with world class shelling, Busch Gardens in Tampa and the freshest oranges you'll ever try.

Fort Myers is one of the best kept secrets of Florida. Situated just north of Naples and with the region's only international airport, it is easy to get to from anywhere. Thomas Edison and Henry Ford loved Fort Myers so much that they built neighboring winter homes there. The avenue leading to the mansions is lined with hundreds of majestic Royal Palms. Many people know the Jimmy Buffett tune "Cheeseburger In Paradise" which was written about a restaurant on a small island behind the barrier islands off Fort Myers, namely Cabbage Key. The rich and famous come to Useppa Island which you can visit. Sanibel Island is famous for shelling. If you are one of the lucky ones and you find a Junonia, you can get your picture in the local paper. If you promise not to tell, we'll let you in on a secret...Cayo Costa, which is uninhabited (Well, almost. One person lives there) and a state park has even better shelling, but you need a boat to get there.
