Come stay in "Butterfly Haven." Nestled in the Oregon forest along the Salmon River, just 40 minutes east of Portland, this delightful cottage is part of Mount Hood Village Resort. Very cute, with a butterfly theme, complete with a butterfly garden, the cottage's picture window overlooks a gorgeous reflecting pond with ducks, geese and herons sharing the quiet forest. Pefect for a romantic weekend or a family vacation, the cottage has one bedroom with a queen-sized bed, a living room with a fold-out sofa and a loft with two twin beds. The cedar deck has a great eating area with a nice view and a jacuzzi hot tub. The cottage has everything you need -- complete kitchen with all the pots, pans and silverware, and a BBQ on the deck. The resort, though wooded and in the evergreen forest, is safe for secure, with 24-hour on-site security. Guests have full privileges to use the weight room, game room and large indoor pool at the clubhouse. Follow a trail to nearby Wildwood Nature Park. Mount Hood Village is just 18 miles from the ski resorts of Mount Hood on U.S. Highway 26 near the village of Welches, home of a beautiful 27-hole golf course and many nice restaurants.
