Welcome to Casa Nicolar in Granada Spain. Between the mountains and the sea - we are situated on the edge of the Contraviesa which are the foothills to the Sierra Nevada mountains - just south of Granada.

This is not a tourist place but a very old working mountain village inhabited by a farming community going back many decades. Almonds, figs & grapes are the main crops and the the famous Vino Polopos is a revered local brew which you will savour well into the night.

The area is rugged with strident walking & hiking. Beware the mountain drops ! You can exercise or laze and hot foot to the coast in under 2 hours. Or, drive down in 20 minutres & swim in the sea. Fantastic, wholesome local food. Good hospitality & friendly people will help you to obtain the best from your visit to the Alpujarra.
