Belize has more in common with its neighboring Caribbean Islands than Central America. This laid back country is English-speaking and Creole-dominated. Many visitors travel through Belize City. Although it’s not a common tourist attraction it is the largest town in the country and its main transportation and commercial center. The Mayan ruin of Xunantunich is Belize’s archaeological pride; its tallest building, being 131 ft high, looks over the jungle. The Cayes are frequently visited by tourists, the two most popular being Caye Caulker and Ambergris Caye. Baron Bliss Day and Belize National Day are two of many celebrations Belize partakes in. Swimming, snorkeling, scuba diving, sailing, windsurfing and fishing are common activities in Belize.
