Anguilla’s only real city, The Valley, is the center of the island geographically, commercially and politically. This small town consists of a handful of mini-malls and is home to the Anguilla National Trust Museum. For beach goers, the white sandy beaches of Shoal Bay East are considered the island's very best. The tiny island of Scilly Cay can make for a fun afternoon; it features its own open-air restaurant with music, and the area is great for swimming. And every year there are festivals on the island. Most notable is Carnival, a week long celebration that consists of music, dancing, costumes, and a boat race.
