Cape San Blas, FL is 20 miles long and a mile wide at it's widest point! St. Joseph Bay is on one side and the Gulf of Mexico is on the other. Ten of the 20 miles consists of St. Joseph Peninsula State Park and there are no high rise condos. This allows for an uncrowded and unspoiled beach--lot's of room for you and your dog to enjoy! Your dog is welcome on the beach with NO TIME RESTRICTIONS!
Barrier Dunes is a secure, gated community with 2 fantastic pools. One is located directly on the dunes with a beautiful view of the ocean and a great clubhouse. Barrier Dunes also has tennis courts, fishing ponds, boardwalks throughout and several pet stations!
St. Joseph Peninsula State Park is located right next door to Barrier Dunes and offers excellent access to the bay as well as 7 miles of undeveloped, unpaved pristine wilderness area, bay access and beach. Enjoy rare views of sea birds & other wildlife. We took a boat out in the bay and saw dolphin dancing around the boat, schools of stingray, starfish, sea urchins, sand dollars, fish and crab! The clear water bay is one of the cleanest in Florida & provides excellent snorkeling, boating, fishing, crabbing & scalloping.
THE CAPE ESCAPE I: 2BR/2BA. You will find an oversized King master suite w/dedicated balcony, dressing area w/double sinks, walk-in closet, bathroom w/separate shower & an over-sized bath on the upper floor. The lower floor has a fully-equipped kitchen overlooking the dining area & family room, a Queen bedroom, & a full bathroom. The family room includes a cable TV, & a sleeper sofa.
THE CAPE ESCAPE II: 2BR/2.5BA. 100 steps from The Cape Escape & on the lake! On the upper level is a King & Queen bedroom, both with private bathrooms and porches. They both have Cable TV & one has a VCR & the other a DVD! 2 of the 3 decks overlook a large freshwater fishing lake & the condo is 200 steps to the beach or the gulf front pool! Owners provide beach chairs, buckets/shovels, boogie boards, crab nets, cooler and buckets and a beach cart to carry it all--though the beach is 100 steps from The Cape Escape I & 200 steps from The Cape Escape II. ** NOW WITH WIFI Highspeed INTERNET in both rentals **
We also try and have all the little things that are easy to forget like laundry soap, tin foil, DW detergent & lots of other extra! We want The Cape Escape to feel like home! We hope this clears some space in your car and makes your vacation planning easier!
Both rentals also have portable phones, answering machine, washer and drier, fully stocked kitchen, all linens provided, games, puzzles, books, kids movies, outdoor hot and cold shower to wash those sandy paws and toes, covered parking, clothes lines for those wet towels--too much to mention! We also provide a guest dog dish & pet towels!

Things We Love to Do When We Visit the Cape!
Fishing - From the 3 fresh water fishing ponds/lakes in Barrier Dunes, the surf, the bay or taking out a charter boat!
Crabbing - We eat 2-3 meals from the crabs we catch while we are there. See our web site for instructions!
Scalloping - Scallop season is July 1 to Sept. 10. You can scallop right out in the bay and have access from St. Joseph Peninsula State Park just outside of the Gates to Barrier Dunes!
Boating - Take a pontoon boat out in the bay and spend the day snorkeling, fishing, watching the dolphins, crabs, stingrays, horse shoe crabs and other critters. You can also take out a kayak or canoe, which you can rent right on the Cape (Scallop Cove).
Horsebacking Riding ON THE BEACH: It's an awesome thing to do the kids and romatic at sunset with just the spouse! Yes! They meet you on the Cape and you can ride in the surf!

| Rental Policies and Forms of Payment

Once you call or e-mail me with a request to reserve a date, a contract will be e-mailed to you. The signed contract and a $300 deposit (which converts to a fully refundable damage deposit) are due within 5 days to secure your reservation. The balance is due 60 & 30 days prior to check-in.
Above rates do not include a $65 cleaning fee and Florida Tax. Above rates do not include a $50 per pet fee. Monthly rates are available in the Fall and Winter. Discounts will apply. Please contact us if you would like to discuss a warmer climate this winter! Snowbirds are very welcome.
We will not rent to vacationing students or singles under 25 years of age unless accompanied by an adult guardian or parent for the duration of the contract.
No pets are allowed without a signed pet contract and a $50 pet fee per pet. |
