Want to see Hawaii and not other tourists? With an active volcano and a Black Sand Beach a 10 minute walk away? Our house was built with tile from the Old Parker Ranch Dairy and the windows have rippled glass from a century ago. Recently remodeled with tile floor, cherry cabinets and granite countertops, the home is a visual pleasure. Ocean view from the livingroom. While the home is equipped with Satellite TV, VCR, DVD and plenty more, you will find that you will want to spend most of your time enjoying the scenery. The closest beach is a ten minute walk and although it's usually too rough to swim, you may view steam rising high in the air where lava enters the ocean.
The house also includes a washer/dryer, linens, board games, a coffee maker, microwave and a fully equipped kitchen. There is also a beautiful outdoor rock wall shower where you can cool off after the beach and a rock barbeque.
Volcano viewing
Depending on the current eruption activity, many of our guests walk across the street from the house onto the 1991 lava flow and look back up the mountain. If lava is flowing on the surface, you will see the eruption about 4 miles to the northwest.
The black sand beach at Kehena is a great spot to swim with dolphins and if you go to Kapoho you will see turtles at Champagne Pond.

| Rental Policies and Forms of Payment

Hawaii charges 4% General Excise and 7.25% Transient Accommodations Tax. Three-night minimum, if your rental is within 30 days of occupancy. If your stay is less than 1 week, add $30.00 cleaning fee. 7 night minimum if reservations are made more than 1 month in advance. Your privacy is respected. If you rent only the upstairs the downstairs is not rented out during your stay.
The total rent is payable in advance. The reservation deposit (50% of the total rent or 100% for rentals of less than 7 days), a security deposit of $100 (waived if payment is by credit card), and a cleaning fee of $30 for rentals of less than 7 days. Any balance will be due or charged to your credit card 30 days before occupancy. Credit card payment is accepted, including AMEX and Discover. |
